Thanks for your reply. You can contact me in this email ID "cisgene.edward@gmail.com". It's better if we contact by email. Very happy to hear that you did your degree in Trichy. I would like to know the Universal primers for 28S ribosomal RNA gene from you. Kindly provide me.

Thank you

Thank you sir for your reply. Even I do my degree in Trichy ie Pudukkottai in J.J.College of Arts and Science. Now i have completed my exams and given my viva of the project work. I have got one of my culuture sequenced and is now updated in NCBI (acc no EF530573). But the species is not confirmed yet , so my sir is trying to find if it is a new strain. Now i would like to find a control measure for the spread of the disease. I would like to know your opinion.

Hi Aiswarya Vinod,

Its very interesting to see your work on Colletotrichum. Let me introduce myself. Iam EDWARD working as a lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology, St Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu, India. Currently iam involved in the generation of Transgenic sugarcane to confer disease resistance against the Colletotrichum falcatum that causes red rot disease in sugarcane and devastate the sugarcane production in India. You can feel free to contact me anytime and don't hesitate to contact for any help.

Thank you

With Regards

Oops, I just noticed Aiswarya that you double-posted: you are in Mumbai, and the work is part of your Master's thesis. So we need to find out if there are Colletotrichum researchers that are located closer to you that you could collaborate with, or if any of the people who have done analyses of Colletotrichum species on tropical fruits would be interested in anaylyzing DNA from your isolates. Is there anyone out there that fits this profile????? If so, please let us know by posting on the forum site of this webpage!

Aiswarya, it sounds like you should post this query on the "forum" section of this website that has been set up specifically for technical questions like this one. There may be researchers reading the site that would be suitable as collaborators with you on this, workers that have a specific interest in the taxonomy/phylogenetics of Colletotrichum species on tropical fruits. If you can tell us where you are located, and what the context of this project is, I think we could help you more.

I'm afraid I don't know anyone who just does PCR amplification and sequencing as a service...does anyone else know if such a service exists? And if you want someone to volunteer to do this for you, I think you'll need to give them a bit more information so that they can decide if they wish to collaborate on this project.

i am trying to isolate isolate the DNA sample and would wish to send it to you. So in what form do you prefer ? I humbly request you to give me reply as soon as possible.
